How we work
Three steps, no surprises
The same order every time, whether it is a tripping circuit at midnight or a rewire booked for next month.
- 01
You call and we answer
A person picks up, takes the details and tells you what is likely going on. If it is a safety matter we talk you through making it safe before we set off.
- 02
We price it before we start
You get the cost in writing for planned work, or the callout rate confirmed on the phone for an emergency. Nothing gets added on afterwards without you agreeing it first.
- 03
We certify what we did
The right certificate is issued on completion: an EICR, an EIC or a MEIWC. Notifiable work is self certified through our scheme registration.

In their words
What people say afterwards
The kitchen circuit kept tripping and two other firms never rang back. These lot answered, came out that afternoon, found a nail through a cable behind a unit and showed me the damage before they fixed it.
Six flats, six EICRs, all reports back inside the week and the remedial work priced line by line. I knew exactly what I was signing off.
They surveyed before quoting the charger, spotted the board would not take it, and gave me one price for the lot. No add-ons on the day.
Questions
The things people ask before booking
Pick a topic, or read the lot. If your question is not here, ring us and ask it directly.
Same day where we can. If we cannot get to you the same day we will say so on the phone and book the first slot that we can actually keep.
Yes. A single socket, a light fitting or a faulty switch is a normal booking for us.
Switch the circuit off at the consumer unit if it is safe to reach, stop using the socket, and call us. Do not keep resetting a breaker that keeps tripping, because it is tripping for a reason.
A new circuit, a consumer unit replacement, and additions or alterations in special locations such as bathrooms. We are NAPIT registered, so we self certify that work rather than sending you to building control.
Our electricians are qualified to the current edition of BS 7671 and work to it on every job. Registration numbers are published in the footer.
It covers the fixed installation: the consumer unit, the circuits, the wiring, the accessories and the earthing and bonding. It excludes portable appliances, which are tested separately.
C1 means danger is present. C2 means potentially dangerous. C3 means improvement is recommended. FI means further investigation is required. C1 and C2 items need remedying within 28 days.
We quote for the remedial work alongside the report so you can see what each item costs. You are free to have another contractor do it, and we will still issue your report.
An EICR for an inspection, an EIC for new installation work or a new circuit, and a MEIWC for a minor alteration such as adding a socket to an existing circuit.
Usually yes, but it depends on your incoming supply, your consumer unit and the earthing arrangement. We survey before we quote so the price you get is the price you pay.
A straightforward install is normally a single day. A longer cable run, a supply upgrade or a board change can extend it, and we will tell you that at survey rather than on the day.
Every installation in a rented property must be inspected and tested at intervals not exceeding five years, and sooner if the report itself specifies a shorter interval.
The tenant must be given a copy of the report within 28 days of the inspection. We send you the report so you can meet that deadline comfortably.
Local authorities can impose a financial penalty of up to £30,000 per breach. An EICR is the cheaper end of that arithmetic.
No. Quotes are free, and for planned work we put them in writing before anything starts.
Pricing is on request. We quote once we have seen the job, in writing before anything starts, and nothing gets added afterwards without you agreeing it first.
Nothing under that topic yet.
Still unsure what you need? Call 0113 880 5535 and we will tell you straight, including when the answer is that you do not need us.
